6th January 2021: It didn't take long to register our second winner of the calendar year. This time it was our three year old Elusive Treat, making his handicap debut at Kempton in the hands of Jack Garritty. Given a cool ride by Jack, he asked our fella to quicken up in the home straight and with a willing partner the pair came home over a length in front to make the trip from Malton a worthwhile one.
3rd January 2021: Winner number one of 2021 is on the board and it's our club favourite Crownthorpe who made his sixth visit to the winners enclosure in our club colours. We were delighted to get the year off to a positive start for our members but also for Connor Murtagh who was in the saddle on his return from injury.
29th September 2020: Toronado Queen brought up our fourth winner during September and her second win in a row, it was our eighth winner of the year! Saffie Osborne took the ride and settled our filly nicely as she travelled well down the back straight. Saffie made her move on the crown of the Wolverhampton bend, entering the straight she had pulled clear and proved excellent value for her claim riding out well as the pair passed the post to win by a length.
27th September 2020: Three winners in a week for our members to celebrate! This time it was Vivacious Boy, ridden by Paddy Mathers who broke his maiden at Musselburgh. Chasing a good early pace, our Mayson gelding ground down the leaders in the final strides to win quite cosily at the line. What a week for our members!
22nd September 2020: Two winners in two days! Waitingonanalibi, our two year old Estidhkaar filly, made it to the winners circle at Newcastle. She needed a helping hand from the Gosforth Park stewards as she was second past the post but only going down by the narrowest of margins. With the first past the post hampering Tony Hamilton and our filly the result was reversed as our members celebrated winner number six for the year.
21st September 2020: Toronado Queen delivered her second career victory at Leicester with Paul Hanagan in the saddle. Held up in the early stages, Paul swooped round the field, showing a decisive injection of pace and won easily. She was our fifth winner of the year and another excellent day for our members.
2nd August 2020: Lady Celia made it win number three for the summer and our fourth winner of the year. She gets better with each run and after being a touch outpaced early chasing a strong gallop, she picked up nicely as the leaders slowed down and was going away at the line for a cosy two length victory. It was great to get some of our members racing again despite the continued attendance restrictions.
With at least three more runners this week, it's a great time to join our club, not to mention the prospect of Lady Celia going for win number four on the 7th August back at her favourite track Hamilton.
16th July 2020: Lady Celia notched up her second victory since racing resumed and did so in good style. Back at Hamilton with Connor Murtagh in the saddle, she was too good for her rivals on the day, winning by a comfortable two lengths.
We've more action for our members around the corner with Toronado Queen set to run at York and members will be keeping an eye out for Lady Celia's next engagement as she aims to make it three wins since lockdown.
13th July 2020: Lady Celia was back in action looking to follow up her victory at Hamilton with a quickfire repeat at Ayr, Barry McHugh was back in the saddle. She ran a valiant race, up with the pace throughout but was denied by a well handicapped Paul Midgley horse to finish second. She'll be running again on the 16th July, the action keeps on coming for our members.
28th June 2020: Our second winner of the year is on the board and it was Lady Celia at Hamilton Park with Barry McHugh in the saddle. Richard thought she would run well in the soft ground off her handicap mark of 54 and he was right. Towards the rear early she loved the conditions and one by one passed her rivals and battled to a neck victory.
With plenty more runners to come over the summer it's a great time to join our club from just £175.
3rd June 2020: After what felt like a lifetime, racing is back! Toronado Queen runs at Kempton with Barry McHugh in the saddle. We're delighted to have the horses running again and really looking forward to seeing our members on the track and at Musley Bank as soon as it's safe to meet.
We'll have many more runners over the next few weeks and what better way to help get through the lockdown than by joining our club, getting all the latest news on our horses and updates before they run.
